First Post
Hello, and welcome to my new blog! I’m thrilled to embark on this journey where I’ll be sharing insights, tips, and tutorials about .NET, Azure, Azure OpenAI, and much more.
Why This Blog?
I created this blog to connect with like-minded tech enthusiasts, share knowledge, and document my learning experiences. Whether you’re a seasoned developer or just starting out, I hope you’ll find something valuable here.
Back in the 2000 decade when I was focused on .NET and consulting/teaching, I blogged routinely - and I’m attempting to return to those roots.
My Blog Tech Stack
For those interested in the nuts and bolts of this blog, here’s a quick rundown of the technologies I’m using:
Eleventy: This is a simple, static site generator that allowed me to set up this blog quickly. I love its flexibility and the ease with which I can customize my site. It took some time to figure how to work with it, but its functional. I’m sure there is way more to discover here.
GitHub: All my blog’s source code is hosted on GitHub. It’s a fantastic platform for version control and collaboration, making it easier to manage and update my site. The underlying blog posts are Markdown formatted files, and so it takes a site deployment to add the page.
Azure Static Web Apps (SWA): For hosting the site, I chose Azure SWA, due to the following:
- offers a streamlined workflow from code to cloud,
- integrates seamlessly with GitHub for continuous deployment
- provides a robust platform for hosting my blog with great performance and scalability
- hosting for free
I will be talking more about SWA, as I explore using it with Blazor and the managed API.
What to Expect at JonBox.NET
In the coming weeks, I’ll be posting articles on:
- .NET development best practices
- Exploring Azure services, from a developer perspective
- Integrating and working with Azure OpenAI
- QA testing
- And more!
Stay tuned for a lot of exciting content. I can’t wait to share my experiences and learn from this amazing community. I’m happy for you to suggest topics to research and problems to solve too.
Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy building and exploring as much as I do!
